We are thankful that we live in a free country, by God's grace. We are truly indebted to all the heroes that fight for our freedom. In honor of our nation's birthday the boys got out their flags that they received from Aunt Cindy last year. The flags still look brand new.

4th of July Parade |
I am a woman and I love fire...especially camp fires. The bigger, the better! I want a fire pit. I have tried to convince my DH (dear husband) to build one or buy one, to no avail. So on holidays like today, i try to make do with a cheaper version (AKA: disposable charcoal grill).
The plan: setup our "camp fire" in the driveway, grill hot dogs and marshmallows, makes smores and then watch the neighborhood fireworks. Due to storms in our area, the plan didn't go off quite as we hoped. Instead of the driveway we setup shop on the screened-in porch...you can't do that with a fire-pit. Fun was had by all and after tons of food and sticky fingers, the boys showered and are off to bed.

Sigh! I don't want a hot dog or marshmallows. |
