2018 in Review and Prayer Requests for 2019

Happy New Year!

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and are ready for a blessed new year.  Our year has been really intense, but we are blessed to end on a happy and healthy note.

David is very happy that his Clemson Tigers made it to the NCAA National Championship game.  He is disappointed to not be attending this year, but at this time a trip to Santa Clara, CA is not feasible. This year he did a great job landscaping our backyard and it gives us joy every time we go outside. A prayer request for David would be that he finds joy in the new year.

Mary found a treatment to help her autoimmune arthritis and is feeling much better.  She loves teaching technology and her life with David and the boys.  In the new year, her prayer request is to focus on eating right and exercising.

Grammy had a very difficult 2018.  She received a pacemaker in August, battled cellulitis in September and broke her leg in October.  Thankfully she is on the mend.  Her prayer request is that 2019 will be her year to shine for Jesus.

Logan is in 7th grade at a charter school in Matthews.  He participated in a mock trial club at his school.  Each week they met and prepared a case to be presented at the courthouse in Charlotte.  It was a wonderful experience and he did a great job.  He still loves playing the trumpet and is doing well in school.  Our prayer for Logan is to trust in the sovereignty of God.

We are blessed that all the boys attend the same charter school.  Caden is in the 6th grade.  It is his first year in middle school and he is getting the hang of things.  He loves football and video games. We are exploring medical reasons why Caden is behind his peers on the growth chart. Our prayer request for Caden is to look to God to fill the emptiness he feels in his soul.

Mason has had many challenges this year.  Thanks to everyone who has prayed for him.  We received a lot of answers in 2018, but he still has a difficult road ahead of him.  Our request for Mason is patience and understanding that God loves him and has a plan for him.  In addition, he is scheduled for surgery on 1/10/19 at 8 AM for a feeding tube.  Finally, we are still searching for therapy options for him in the new year and at some point feeding therapy in Alabama.

Thank you all for loving and caring for our family.  We feel your prayers and it gives us peace in times of stress or chaos.  Please know that we are praying for you as well.  Remember that God is with us in the struggles and in the mundane times of life.

We hope you have a blessed 2019.
David, Mary, Logan, Caden, Mason, and Grammy
