David and his dad have been working to tile our shower. They made great progress over Labor Day weekend. There is some great bonding going on between father and son! AND they have done a good job of tiling the shower!!
Mary is running herself crazy between carpool, therapy appts, work and preschool. I will be glad when Mason doesn't have to do this therapy. I LIVE in the car. I know, it was my choice to send Logan to CDS, but I didn't expect the therapy appts (or them to be across town). Pray that I will find rest in the midst of chaos.
Logan is doing very well in Kindergarten. He struggles with making friends and complains that no one will play with him on the playground. We have learned he is picky about who he plays with and we are working with him on proper friend behavior. He had a playdate with a classmate last Friday and another one this Friday. Please pray for wisdom (ours and his) on how to negotiate the politics of school. (yes, there is politics, even in Kindergarten) They didn't write the book "All I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" for nothing....and no, i haven't read it yet. It is on my long list.
Caden was very happy to return to preschool today. He loves his teachers, Miss Kaila and Miss Libby. He said "school was awesome" and he did centers in class. He also said that you were not supposed to leave the center until the teacher said so, but he wandered around and they kept calling his name. He got his sticker in his happy day book, so all must have been okay.
Mason, Mason, Mason. He is doing great in therapy. He tolerates the brushing, muscle compression and doesn't mind to oral technique. He is working on learning the different parts of his mouth (speech therapy) and how to take turns (will be used later for feeding himself). He must be getting better from a sensory standpoint....Yes, I have another story....
When I got home from work yesterday, I was wiped out. I took a nap for an hour and then went in to wake Mason. He is sitting in the middle of the crib, surrounded in a sea of white. I am puzzled, groggy from sleep and can't figure out what the white stuff is...no it wasn't desitin. Idle hands are a devils playground, hence the title of this blog. Mason had reached through the bars of the crib and grabbed his diaper bag from the glider. In it was a new box of white kitchen trash bags, Vaseline, desitin, MMs and gummy treats. He threw most of the stuff out of the crib...except the trash bags and the Vaseline. He pulled all the bags out of the box (he was covered in trash bags). Thankfully God watched after my son, and he didn't smother. Trash bags have been moved to top shelf of his closet. Then he proceeded to smear vaseline everywhere. David's mom, Elaine, washed his hair 3 times and it still looked greasy. I finally put some baby powder in it, to soak up the oils. So moral of story... NEVER leave Mason unattended and if he can tolerate Vaseline, he must be getting better.
He did great on his first day of school. There were tears, but they were gone as soon as mommy was out of sight. He did very well...even touched the cheese balls they had for snack...he took them out of the cup and so he could eat the Vanilla Wafers.
That is all, another LONG post from Team K. Here are a few pictures from the first day of preschool...Enjoy!
