Caden's "7th" Birthday

Caden has been planning his birthday celebration since January.  He wanted one friend to spend the day with him.  His plan included Xbox, movies and a steak dinner.  Everything was all set and then Caden got sick.  After a jammed packed Tuesday (VBS, swimming, birthday party, more swimming) he seemed puny at VBS on Wednesday.  All the boys were tired, so we weren't too concerned until we got home and he had a temp of 101.7.  Quickly he was put on the sofa with his night-night, Gatorade and ibuprofen.  After 2.5 days of laying around he is starting to rebound.  Boy, was he like a bear with a sore paw all weekend.  Thankfully he is feeling much better and happily putting Legos together.

Since his original plans have been postponed, we did a smaller version of a birthday party with just family. He still had his favorites, steak, fries and cookie cake.  He requested Star Wars as the theme, so we had a Star Wars cookie cake.  He was blessed with many special gifts from his family including money, gift cards, clothes, books, Legos and XBox games.  Here are a few pictures of his celebration.

God has really blessed us with a special boy.  As he grows into a man please pray that his love of Christ would grow larger than his love of the world and all it has to offer.  Also, that he seeks God for his self confidence and will for his life. Finally, that Caden be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.  James 1:19.
