Anyway, I was just starting to really sleep well when Logan came in. Of course, I am annoyed, because I had spent 15 minutes telling him to go to his room. (He always uses excuses like: I need some toys, I need to go poop, I am hungry) to shorten his rest time. He gives me this pitiful look and says "Mommy, I am on fire". Startled, I looked over at him and he appears fine.
In Logan's room he has an alarm clock/sound machine that plays white noise. He had removed the one of the plug from the sound machine, but the cord was still plugged into the wall. He put one end in his mouth and started to suck on it. WHAT WAS THIS CHILD THINKING? He said sparks flew, it made a funny noise and burned his tongue. Still groggy from sleep, I told him to get some ice and go back to his room.
It took a few minutes to register for me the severity of what he had done. I could have lost my little boy today and there are no words to describe that feeling. My friend, Nancy, used to say that God protected fools and children. I am very thankful that God protected Logan today.
