The Christmas of a 1,000 pieces

Merry Christmas everyone.  We had a wonderful Christmas and are all exhausted.   Our holiday began with lunch at Grammy's house with Mary's side of the family.  Aunts, Uncles and cousin were all there to enjoy food and family together.  The kids love seeing everyone and had a wonderful time eating 1001 different types of junk food.  We even saw Mason trying several new cookies, which is a huge step for him.  He even licked a candy cane!

The boys opened presents from Uncle John, Aunt Veronika, Jessica, Jennifer, and John Jr.  Several items were big favorites like the air craft carrier and the Furreal Kitty.  Caden loved the kitty so much that he made a bed for her when we got home.  He even gave it his favorite blanket.  Here is a picture of his toys all laid out.

David spent two nights preparing for Christmas morning.  I think he has had 5 hours sleep in 48 hours.  He put bikes together, wrapped presents, created clues and treasure maps.  Finally, he slept on a love seat in front of our pocket door to keep the boys in their rooms until morning.  Fortunately, they slept until 7 and didn't try to sneak in to see their presents.

Mommy helped by creating questions for the clues, putting out milk and cookies for Santa, wrapping presents and going to bed so that she would be well rested on Christmas.  One of us had to be sane on Christmas :)

Once the boys were awake and breakfast was eaten the Christmas of 1001 pieces continued.  We started by "One potato, two potato," to determine the order in which gifts would be open.  Conveniently it ended up Logan first, Caden second and Mason third.  Next the boys opened each gift one, by one.  Yes, I am the mommy that drags the gifts out as long as possible.  Many wonderful gifts were received.  I will post the rest of our pictures below.  Legos, Trios and Vacuum cleaners were our biggest scores!

Good morning boys!
