Update on Logan's first weeks of Kindergarten

Logan has completed his first 4 weeks of kindergarten.  They are at mid term for the 9 weeks and he is off from school tomorrow.  He almost cried in the car on the way home because he could not go to school on Friday.

He is still very hard to get moving in the morning and hates to eat breakfast.  Actually, he doesn't eat well until he gets home from school, then he eats until bedtime.  Today he had Lunch & Literature until 2:50 and all he had to eat were 5 small muffins and a bag of craisins.  We will continue to try different things until we find things he will eat for breakfast, snack and lunch.  Food always seems to be a problem with our kids.

He has learned 12 site words, created a sea star project and completed the Oceans unit.  He also had a Teddy Bear Picnic at the Beach to celebrate the letter "B" (Bears, bubbles, balls, bean bags, and balloons).  Mommy is the "Party Mom" and help coordinate the big event.  Party Mom takes a whole new meaning in Kindergarten :)

Next week they start an Explorers unit, which includes family timelines and creating a map of an adventure they have taken with their parents.  The fun continues with a Fall Festival in October and then a welcomed break at the end of next month.

It sure seems like mom and dad have a lot more homework these days.  Site words, nightly reading, making sure his worksheets are complete, not to mention class parties, field trips and the logistics of carpool.  Life in the Kerstiens' house is definitely changing...stay tuned for all our exciting adventures.

Though it doesn't look like much a lot of work went into this sea star presentation.

IMPRESSIVE! C's is due in a week from Monday. We'd better get busy b/c he does MUCH better working in short bursts...no last-minute cramming is going to happen in this house :)
